Sheril Slack

November 23, 1933 — March 17, 2013

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Sheril Slack, age 79, of Richfield, died March 17, 2013 in Provo, Utah, of complications from a fall he suffered at his home in Richfield. He was born November 23, 1933 in Panguitch, Utah, a son of Martin Leonard and Myrtle Prince Slack. He graduated from Panguitch High School, Class of 1952. He attended college in Cedar City, Utah and Utah State University in Logan, where he graduated as a Range Specialist. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Marine Corp. In his younger day, he was an active member of the LDS Church, growing up in Panguitch. Sheril married Mary Alcea Anderson, October 6, 1956 in Junction, Utah. To this union was born three children: Cindy, Craig and Tara. Sheril worked for the Bureau of Land Management in the Richfield Office as a Range Specialist. Sheril was a member of the Richfield Elks Lodge, where he served as Inner Guard. His major enjoyment in life was fishing up at Panguitch Lake. He was an avid golfer for many years and he also enjoyed hunting. He is survived by his loving wife, Alcea, of Richfield; his children: Cindy and Rick Pierce of St. George; Craig and Annelise Slack of Midway; Tara and Ross Dietrich of Gilbert, Arizona; 8 grandchildren; two sisters: Tennys Slack Houston of South Jordan, Melva and Ned Owens of Panguitch. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the Richfield 10th LDS Ward Chapel, 675 West 200 South in Richfield, where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services. Military honors will be accorded by the VFW Sevier Post #5050 and the Utah Honor Guard under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
