Shirleen H. Harward

August 27, 1934 — January 31, 2009

Richfield, Utah - Our kind and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Dot Shirleen Holdaway Harward, age 74, died January 31, 2009 at her home in Richfield, of complications from open heart surgery. She was born August 27, 1934 in Glenwood, Utah, a daughter of Royal Lynn and Bernice Sampson Holdaway. She graduated from Beaver High School, Class of 1952. She married Ross J. Harward, March 11, 1953 in Richfield, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple January 9, 1982. Shirleen was very active in the LDS Church, serving in many callings, including Manti Temple Worker for five years, Visiting Teacher and she loved going to church. She worked at the Family History Center in Richfield for 12 years and the Family History Center in Salina for 2 years. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in the mountains. She loved her family and loved going to the Holdaway Family Reunions. She liked reading the Book of Mormon and researching genealogy. She was always helping people, something that she enjoyed doing. Shirleen is survived by her loving husband, Ross, of Richfield; her children: Terria L. Trezil of Aurora; Vicky Harward of American Fork; Jeffery J. Harward of Richfield; 4 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; six brothers: Dean and Gwen Holdaway of Hurricane; Ivan and Phyllis Holdaway of Las Vegas, Nevada; Verl and Bonnie Holdaway of West Valley City; Gary and Deanna Holdaway of Richfield; Lynn and Virginia Holdaway of Denver, Colorado; Gaylon and Marleah Holdaway of Boise, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents, Royal and Bernice Sampson Holdaway; a sister, Berva Dawn Malmgren; a son, Paul J. Harward and her parents-in-law: Herald and Olive Leona Anderson Harward. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 6, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the Richfield 1st LDS Ward Chapel, 985 South 400 West in Richfield. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Aurora City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
