Shirley Blake Willden

January 21, 1940 — September 13, 2008

Mayfield, Utah - Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Shirley Laraine Blake Willden, age 68, passed away September 13, 2008. She will be remembered by family and friends as a loving and giving person. Shirley was born January 21, 1940 in McGill, Nevada, a daughter of Melvin Wade and Norma Laraine Cooper Blake. She married William Thomas Willden, February 3, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She then raised five children while her husband worked out of town. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for seven years and took care of the husband, who was bedridden for the last five years of his life. William died September 14, 1999. In her later years, Shirley was active in the LDS Church and enjoyed serving in many church callings. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved doing puzzles, crocheting and spending time with her family. Shirley is survived by her children: Kevin and Lariane Gage, Stacy and Yvonne Willden, Jason and Silvia Willden; Justin and Becky Willden; Karissa Kiesel and Emily Bruso; 18 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother and sisters: Wade and Pam Blake; Joylen Kampf and Jane Blake. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Ada May Beckham; a brother, N. Thayne Blake; daughter-in-law, Marti Willden and a granddaughter, Skyler Willden. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 11:00A.M. in the Mayfield LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Friday evening from 7 to 9 P.M. or Saturday morning from 9:30 to10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Mayfield Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
