Shirley Coleman Anderson

September 24, 1930 — July 30, 2010

Elsinore, Utah - Our kind and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Shirley Forsyth Coleman Anderson, age 79, of Elsinore, died suddenly and very unexpectedly on Friday, July 30, 2010 in Richfield, Utah of a massive heart attack. She was born September 24, 1930 in Teasdale, Utah, a daughter of John Franklin and Marzella Potter Forsyth. She graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1948. She married John Kell Coleman, August 12, 1948 in Teasdale, Utah. They moved to California in 1952, where they spent most of their lives, raising their five children. Their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angles LDS Temple, April 16, 1958. They later returned to live in Teasdale. When Kell became ill, they moved to Elsinore to be closer to the doctors. Kell died December 8, 1995. Shirley then married George Milan Anderson of Elsinore, December 1, 1998 in American Fork, Utah. Shirley was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in all the auxiliaries, especially in the Primary, Relief Society and Young Women’s Program. Recently, she and George had an assignment at the Manti Temple as Special Temple Workers, which she really enjoyed doing. Shirley loved quilting, crocheting, sewing, gardening and doing yard work, planting flowers and mowing the lawn, and cooking. She made the best pies in the whole world. She canned everything from elk meat to deer meat, to vegetables and fruits. In her younger days, she enjoyed hunting and camping with her family. She loved to have everything neat and in order, organized and in it’s place. Shirley never met a stranger and she had many, many friends. She loved to dance, to travel and enjoyed being with people. She was a high spirited lady with the energy of a teenager, always doing something to pass the time. She will be greatly missed.
