Salina, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, Shirley Peterson Curtis, age 90, died September 23, 2016 in Richfield, Utah. She was born November 28, 1925 in Salina, Utah, a daughter of Joseph Franklin and Josephine Frandsen Peterson. She graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1944. She married Blair Doyle Curtis, October 24, 1945 in San Diego, California. He preceded her in death August 14, 2002. Shirley was a member of the LDS Church, serving in both Ward and Stake Primary and as a Visiting Teacher in the Salina 4th Ward. Shirley enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, books on CD and candy making. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Shirley is survived by her children: DeAnna and Ben Woolsey of Orem; Gary Blair Curtis of Salina; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son-in-law: Lyle Prestwich; and 11 siblings: Orrin, Milton, Larry, Calvert, Vernal, Harold, Royal, Merrill, Eda, Mable and Reva. Grave side services will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 12 Noon in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main Street in Salina, Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
