Aurora, Utah - Elwyn Lyle “Slugger” Slagowski, age 54, unexpectedly returned to the arms of our Heavenly Father on December 5, 2011 at his home in Aurora of a massive heart attack. He was born September 14, 1957 in Evanston, Wyoming, a son of Alfred Lind and Beulah Ryer Slagowski. He graduated from Mountain View High School and served in the Army National Guard. Slugger worked for the Utah Highway Patrol for 26 years and while living in Wendover, he met the love of his life, Annette Marie Conner. They were married March 21, 1998 in Wendover. In 2003, they moved and made their home in Aurora, Utah. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Brett and Amber Sue. Annette died suddenly and very unexpectedly on March 10, 2011, leaving a big hole in Slugger’s heart. Slugger enjoyed hunting; fishing with his true soul mate, Annette; four-wheeling; guns and shooting; and carpentry work. He loved his kids and especially enjoyed taking care of his grandkids. Slugger was a very active member and an Elder in the Valley Community Presbyterian Church in Richfield. He loved the children and the children looked forward to seeing him each Sunday, so they could sit on his lap and partake of his wonderful spirit. Slugger is survived by his children: Brett and Camie Richardson of Tooele; Amber Richardson of Aurora; his grandchildren, who were the joy of his life: Dillen Richardson, Olivia Richardson, Laura Shepherd, Gracie Shepherd, Damian Lopez, Alley Lopez and Kaden Lopez; brother and sister: Douglas and Kathy Slagowski of Sandy; Winona Link of West Valley City; and his parents-in-law: Ethel Ann and Tom Kunkel of Rogerson, Idaho.
