Stanley L. Wyllie

Bicknell, Utah - Stanley Lavar Wyllie, age 81, died November 26, 2008 at his home in Bicknell. He was born August 9, 1927 in Green River, Utah, a son of Stuart Arnot and Martha Elizabeth Weber Wyllie. He lived in Hanksville until he was 13 years old and then they moved to Bicknell. He graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1945. He was a Veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving in the US Navy for six years. He married Coral Nadene Pair February 22, 1952 in Reno, Nevada. She died November 28, 1994. He worked at the Shootaring Uranium Mine for several years, along with the timber industry. In 1960 he went to work for UDOT. After retiring from UDOT in 1985, he continued to raise rainbow trout. He was a member of the LDS Church. He loved to hunt and fish. He raised a beautiful garden with always enough to share. He enjoyed reading, helping with projects and visiting with good friends. His greatest joy was giving to others and spoiling his family. Stanley is survived by his daughter, Coral and David Brinkerhoff of Bicknell; grandsons: Bryan and Carrie Brinkerhoff and their daughter, Maggie; Daniel Brinkerhoff, all of Bicknell; a sister, Phyllis and Guy Coombs of Teasdale; sister and brother-in-law: Bette Danley of Rancho Cordova, CA; Tim and Chris Pair of Folsom, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nadene; parents; and two brothers-in-law: Erle Danley and Samuel Pair. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 1, 2008 at 1:00P.M. in the Thurber LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Sunday evening from 5 to 7 P.M. or Monday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 will be in the Bicknell Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
