Sue Anne Staples Brady Christensen

July 17, 1934 — October 10, 2024

Richfield, Utah – Sue Anne Staples Brady Christensen, age 90, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday, October 10, 2024, in Richfield. She was born July 17, 1934, in Monroe, a daughter of George William and Vee Bohman Staples. She was born with a defective left leg and was an amputee since birth. Her mother worked diligently with Sue to help her adjust to her prosthetic leg and walk properly to keep her spine straight. Many people did not know Sue was an amputee. In her youth she thoroughly enjoyed traveling to Hawaii where she was an avid body surfer. As an adult, she loved dancing and never let her disability slow her down.

She graduated from South Sevier High School, Class of 1952.

Sue Anne married William Marsh and they lived in Chicago, but they were later divorced. Sue moved back to Utah, where she met Darwin Reed Brady at a church dance in Springville in 1995. They were married August 1, 1997. At that time, Sue’s mother needed extra care, so Sue and Darwin moved to Richfield to help and she has resided in Richfield ever since. Sue and Darwin loved to travel and visited many places such as Alaska, Central America and England. Darwin passed away September 7, 2021.

She met Bartley Christensen and they were married January 27, 2022 in Richfield, Utah. They enjoyed going to the senior citizen dances. Their favorite thing to do was to take mountain rides to look at the leaves and nature.

She worked for the Sevier County School District for many years as a Pre-School Teacher; and was a member of the Utah Teachers Association. She loved little children and thoroughly enjoyed teaching them and working with their parents.

Sue Anne was an accomplished artist, especially enjoyed painting nature and has displayed many of her paintings throughout the entire state of Utah. She inherited her Aunt Ann Staples’ home in Elsinore. She remodeled the home and it became the home to the first Staples Art Gallery in honor of Aunt Ann. Sue served as President of the Staples Art Gallery. She is an active member of the Artists of Sevier.

Sue is a very generous person and had a fashion for truth and honesty.
