Ted Jones

Bicknell, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Ted Baker Jones, age 75, died March 14, 2006 at his home in Bicknell of a heart attack. He was born April 14, 1930 in Bicknell, Utah, a son of Stephen Otis and Vera Baker Jones. He graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1948. Ted married Romola Allred January 25, 1950 in Loa, Utah. He was a member of the Bicknell Fire Department and served as Mayor of Bicknell Town for 4 years. He worked in the logging industry for many years. Ted retired as a Supervisor for the Wayne County Road Department. Ted enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking and making spurs. One of his favorite things to do was to fill his pickup with vegetables he raised in his garden, and distribute them to everyone in town. The pride and joy of his life were his kids and grandkids. Ted is survived by his wife of Bicknell; children: Debbie and Ken Allen of Roosevelt; John Ted and Dawna Jones of Bicknell; Doug and Shaunna Jones of Las Vegas, Nevada; 20 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one sister: Mary Anita “Peggy” and Lane Ellett of Bicknell. He was preceded in death by his parents Stephen Otis and Vera Baker Jones. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. in the Thurber LDS Ward Chapel in Bicknell, where Friends may call for viewing Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. and again Tuesday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Bicknell Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
