Scottsdale, AZ/Salina, Utah - Ted Lowell Murphy passed quietly away on February 10, 2018 at the age of 88 years old from a condition known as old age. Ted was born November 1, 1929 in Salt Lake City, a son of George Lowell and Dorothy Margaret Pinneo Murphy and he grew up in Salina. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He attended what is now Utah Valley University for the majority of his secondary education. He married Marion Elizabeth Winn, May 9, 1958 in Tooele and they lived in Clearfield, Utah, where Ted worked for the U.S. Federal Government in the department of Defense at Hill Air Force base until he was transferred to Phoenix, Arizona around 1964. Ted and Marion have resided in Scottsdale, Arizona since that transfer. Family has always been Ted's top priority, and he was a devoted husband and father. For him, family was always first. Ted is survived by his wife and sweetheart, Marion; their children: Julie and Scott Shuler; Kathy and Dave; David and Lawrette Murphy; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol. He is preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild and 2 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the Salina Eastside Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Saturday afternoon one hour prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Salina American Legion Post #36 and the Hill Field Air Force Honor Guard will be in the Eastside Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
