Ted R. Yowell

July 17, 1930 — March 3, 2021

Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, Theodore Ross Yowell, age 90, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his home in Richfield on March 3, 2021. He was born July 17, 1930 in Hutchinson, Kansas, one of two children born to Theos Ross and Nellie Opal Kennedy Yowell. He graduated from Delores High School, Class of 1948 in Delores, Colorado. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict as an Air Force Specialist in Texas and a Counselor for the Air Force. Ted married Lois Ione Holliman August 11, 1960 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple December 12, 1965. Lois passed away June 3, 1995. He married Dixie Heaps November 25, 1995 in the Manti LDS Temple. Ted was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Mesa Verde, Colorado. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1963 in California and served as a Stake Missionary, as Elders Quorum President, Stake Clerk and Counselor in the Bishopric. He loved the Church and His Savior Jesus Christ. Ted was a member of the Richfield Lions Club. Ted and Lois lived in California for many years and then moved to Nephi where he had a welding shop. Ted became a hearing aid specialist and he owned and operated Yowell Hearing in Nephi and Richfield for 45 years. He moved to Richfield in 1980 and made it his home. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dixie, of Richfield; children: John Owen Webber of Surprise, Arizona; Patricia Alice (Wayne, deceased) McLeary of Phoenix, Arizona; step-children: TerriLin and Alan Smith of Chesapeake, Virginia; Tamra Carter of North Las Vegas, Nevada; Valerie and Ray Stokes of Wrangell, Alaska; Wade and Lana Carter of Fairview; Neal and Karen Carter of Sigurd; Amber (Warren, deceased) Carter of Annabella; Ryan and Aleta Carter of Kingman, Arizona; Brook Ann and Charles Miles of King Road, Florida; 80 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Tony Ross Yowell; two daughters, Sharron Kissinger, Beverley and Paul Marks; grandsons, John Ira Bailey and Bruce A. Marks, a great-granddaughter, Mallory Clements; his sister, Brook Ann Martin; and a step-grandson, Justin Carter. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Thursday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the V.F.W. Sevier Post #5050 and the Hill Field Air Force Base Honor Guard will be in the Sigurd Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
