Thelda Dean Martin Salina, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Thelda Dean Craw Martin, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2004 in Monroe, Utah where she had been residing for the past 2 ½ years, due to poor health from Alzheimer’s Disease. Our Mom was born October 12, 1923 in Minersville, Utah, a daughter of Charles Nelson and Lydia Fern Talbot Craw. She married our dad, Ashton Kirk Martin, June 10, 1946 in the St. George LDS Temple. Dad passed away January 13, 2002. Thelda and Kirk had lived in Sparks, Nevada for 33 years, where Kirk was a custom home builder and a home appraisor and Thelda was a hair dresser and owned and operator her own beauty shop for 25 years. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in all the auxiliaries, especially in the Primary and the Young Women’s Program. Mom and Dad served a Temple Mission to the Manti Temple for 9 years. They had lived in Salina, Utah since 1985, where they had made many, lasting friendships. Mom was a gifted artist and loved to oil paint. She enjoyed working in her yards, and always had beautiful flowers and gardens. She was a avid fisherman and loved to fish. Mom is survived by her three children: Charles “Chuck” and Sarah Martin of East Carbon, Utah; Robert “Bob” Martin, Linda and Tim Tolman, all of Fallon, Nevada; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Jim Craw of Minersville, Utah; Leland “Charlie” Craw of Richmond, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandson, Joey Martin; sister and brothers: Beth, Met, Wayne, Bert and Jack Craw. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 1, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. in the Salina 3rd LDS Ward Chapel, located at 85 South 100 East in Salina. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina Monday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah. We would like to extend a special thanks to Rosalie and Max Curtis in Monroe, for the loving care and considerations they have given our dear, sweet mother for the past 2 ½ years.
