Thora Jackson Kammeyer

Fremont, Utah – Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister Thora Taylor Jackson Kammeyer passed away at the age of 97, on March 1, 2009 in Provo, Utah. She was born September 11, 1911 in Fremont Utah, a daughter of Robert Allen and Myrtle Elizabeth Peterson Taylor. She married Jeremiah Worthen Jackson, June 27, 1933 in the Manti LDS Temple. He died December 4, 1972. She later married Ernest Kammeyer in Manti, Utah, and he later died. Thora was an active member of the LDS church serving in all the auxiliaries. She is survived by her children: Malan and Linda Jackson, currently serving an LDS Mission in Mongolia; Verlene Clark of Richfield; Judy and Don Ekker, of South Jordan; Sandy J. New and Miriam L. Jackson, both of Fremont; Kathy and Daniel Howlett of Orem; 31 grandchildren; 100 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; sisters and brother: Shirley Oldroyd of Loa; Betty Anderson of Kearns; Bobbie and Keith Hooper of Richfield; Robert Allen and Louise Taylor of West Valley City. She was preceded in death by: a daughter Ann Avon Jackson; a son Kent Worthen Jackson; son-in-law: Ronnie New; grandsons: Shane and Shawn New, and Daryl Ekker; sisters: Alta Albrecht, Marjorie T. Ainsworth; Rula Turner; NaDean Hatch, Myrtle Taylor, Anna Taylor and Ruth Taylor. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in the Fremont LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Thursday morning at the ward chapel in Fremont, from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Fremont Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
