Tom Dale

February 27, 1934 — June 9, 2010

American Fork/Richfield, Utah - Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Thomas Rex Dale, age 76, died June 9, 2010 at his home in American Fork, Utah. He was born February 27, 1934 in Richfield, Utah, the oldest of four children born to Reginald Thomas and Rachel Young Dale. He attended schools in Richfield and graduated from Richfield High School, Class of 1952. He married Mary Lee Anderson, July 12, 1954 in the Manti LDS Temple. They had three children:Tommari Sue, Thomas Jesston (T.J.) and MaRecia. They later divorced. He later married Carolyn Joy Holcomb, October 6, 1986 in Ferron, Utah and inherited her four children: Steve, John, Mike and Melody. Carolyn later died. Tom started working at Richfield Commercial and Savings Bank in Richfield, after he graduated from high school and worked there for over 22 years. He served as President of the Richfield Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Richfield Lion’s Club. He lived most of his life in Utah, but spent several years in California, where he worked as an accountant and owned a horse ranch. After Carolyn’s death he returned to Utah. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in several different callings. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he loved to sing and dance. He is survived by his children: Tommari Sue Sorensen of Aurora; T.J. Dale of Orem; MaRecia and Ken Freeby of Lehi; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother and sister: Joseph Verl and Veree Dale of Ferron; Naomi Ann and John Tanner of Lehi. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Edith Reganna Opfar. Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 14, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Monday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
