Trena Wood

September 3, 1979 — June 29, 2006

Annabella, Utah - Trena Wood, age 26, returned to her Heavenly Father on June 29, 2006 as the result of injuires sustained in a vehicle/bicycle accident in Richfield. She was born September 3, 1979 in Richfield, Utah, a daughter of S. Douglas and VerDawn Chamberlain Wood, the last of nine children. Trena was a very special and valiant person, and her smile and spirit will be greatly missed by friends and family alike. Trena was an active member of the LDS church all of her life and enjoyed serving others through her callings. She graduated from LDS Seminary. She married Richard Hawley of Central Valley in August of 2001 in the Manti LDS Temple. They were later divorced. She was attending the LDS Adult Singles Ward in Richfield at the time of her death. In the face of strong adversity she never lost faith or her love of the Savior. She attended South Sevier Schools where she excelled in the class room. She loved the challenge and pursuit of academia. Trena was also very athletic and participated in clogging, basketball and cross-country. Although an automobile accident which she experienced as a teen, left her frustrated and unable to reach some of her goals, she still managed to have a powerful and positive influence on those around her. Trena loved the out of doors, hiking with her father, biking and running. She also loved poetry, drawing and playing the piano. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Trena is survived by her parents, S. Douglas and VerDawn C. Wood of Annabella; brothers and sisters: Shane (Kara) Wood, Spanish Fork; Sheryl (Johnny) Trujillo, Parowan; Teresa (Jeff) Farr, Mantua; John (Susan) Wood, Grand Junction; Jolynn (Matt) Bulkley, St. George; Karen (Danny) Stanton, Annabella; Julie (Jathan) Bingham, Richfield; foster sister, Carmelita (J.D,) Bigman, Sanders, AZ; 27 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Christine Wood. We love you Trena!!! Funeral services will be held Monday, July 3, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Annabella 1st LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Sunday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel in Annabella, Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Annabella Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
