On January 28, 2024, Tristen J. White, age 27, passed away in Garden City, Utah. He was born in Richfield, Utah on July 17, 1996, to Jeffrey James White and Sapphira Rain Lopez.
Tristen grew up in Rancho Cucamonga, California where he played baseball, practiced Tae Kwon Do, learned to ride a skateboard, and spent his summers at the beach – one of his favorite places. He attended Central Elementary, Cucamonga Middle, and Alta Loma High School. He was part of the Native Youth programs, where he attended ceremonies, community events, summer camp, and basketball tournaments.
Tristen liked going to Disneyland, Legoland, Knotts Berry Farm, and the LA County Fair, but he was more of an adventurer. He loved to take trips to new places and loved going hiking and camping with his family. One of his favorite hiking spots was the creek in Cucamonga Canyon.
As a kid, Tristen slept and woke up with a skateboard in his hands – often riding his skateboard at Red Hill Park. He enjoyed different music genres and staying current with new releases. You could always tell he was itching to dance, sometimes even busting a goofy move that cracked everyone around him up.
Tristen later moved to St. George, Utah where he attended Dixie High School. He made new friends and continued skateboarding. Tristen got his first job in a restaurant and saved money to buy his first car. Whenever manpower was needed, Tristen would lend a hand. Many times, accompanying his grandpa and grandma to Kayenta. Only Tristen could get Penny, his dog, to listen to him. Although she kept Tristen on his toes, she was loyal to him, Tristen loved Penny.
Tristen graduated high school in St. George. Tristen talked about wanting to design his own brand of clothing, he was especially fond of eclectic socks and hats. Skateboarding was a passion. He liked to travel around to different skate parks just to try them out. He liked to collect antique items. He made a lot of friends here in Utah. He was very proud of his heritage and culture. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was always pleasant and funny. He liked to make people laugh and was always willing to help people.
He was working in construction at the time of his passing. Tristen comes from a large family that loves him and will miss him greatly.
