Twilla Peterson

September 23, 1923 — March 2, 2015

Salina, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend, Twilla Marie Christensen Peterson, age 91, of Salina, passed away March 2, 2015 in Richfield. She was born September 23, 1923 in Redmond, Utah, a daughter of John and Josephine Madsen Christensen. She graduated from North Sevier High School. Twilla married Thad Reed Peterson, December 17, 1943 in Richfield, Utah. He died July 6, 1997. She was a member of the LDS Church, serving as a Relief Society Visiting Teacher, Compassionate Services Leader and was overseer of the quilting in the Salina 1st Ward. She served as a Cub Scout Leader. Twilla enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and she made beautiful tricot quilts. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, sewing, camping and family activities. She loved her social life with the Birthday Club. Twilla had a sense of humor and was quite spunky. She loved all her grandkids and kept up with what everybody was doing. Twilla is survived by her children: Kathy and James Thompson of Manti; Connie and Allen Hyatt of Cleveland; Sherri (Reed J. deceased) Peterson of Salina; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law: Allen Poulson of Richfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son; and all her siblings: Pharise Larsen, Maurine Russell; Joy Poulson, Juanita Olsen, Eldon Christensen, Vannoy Christensen, Howard Christensen and Leland Christensen. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 6, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the Salina LDS Stake Center, 98 West 400 North in Salina. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main Street in Salina, Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the Stake Center Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Redmond City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
