Valden C Anderson

Salina, Utah - Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Valden Carl Anderson, age 96, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2010. He was born February 24, 1914 in Manti, Utah, a son of Carl Niels and Armanella Jessen Anderson. He graduated from North Sevier High School and worked at a local service station before owning his own station. Valden joined the US Navy and served on the USS Lexington during World War II. After returning home, he wen t back to work at the service station in Salina. Valden married Berna Deane Parks, March 7, 1950 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She died November 29, 2007. He and his dear wife, Bunny, worked side by side running the Anderson Poultry farm and Store in Salina. He enjoyed camping, fishing and his daily trips to the coffee shop, but most of all he loved his family. He passed on the extraordinary traits, to his sons and grandchildren, of hard work and integrity. Valden is survived by his three sons: V. Carl Anderson, W. Brent and RoseAnn Anderson, Preston L. and Cindy Anderson, all of Salina; his grandchildren: Bill and Chasity Anderson of Salina; Valerie and Tyson Peterson of Monroe; Natalie and Mark Owens of Joseph; Amanda and Ryan Swalberg of Elsinore; Caden and Megan Anderson of Mt. Pleasant; Keelie Anderson of Tucson, Arizona; Weston Anderson of Salina; Mickey Jean Henson of Salina; his great-grandchildren: Jaden, Kelcie, Ellie and Cole Peterson of Monroe; Brant and Chase Anderson of Salina; his sister, Carol Andersen of Gunnison and his brother, Bryce and Sally Anderson of Aurora. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Howard Gean Anderson; his daughter-in-law: Roene Gurr Anderson; a great-granddaughter, Tylie Ann Peterson; brother, Sherman Anderson, sister, Mozella Peterson and a brother-in-law, Keith Andersen. Grave side services will be held Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the Salina Eastside Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Salina American Legion Post #36 will be in the Eastside Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
