Vauna C. Ashman

March 16, 1925 — August 17, 2015

Richfield, Utah - Vauna Ashman, age 90, passed away peacefully at Logan Regional Hospital on August 17, 2015 due to complications suffered from a stroke. She was born on March 16,1925 in Richfield, Utah to Leonard and Beatrice Gray Christensen. The youngest of four children she grew up helping her parents with the family farm where she learned the value of hard work. She spent the last year of her life at the Beehive Home in Logan to be closer to her 2 daughters, Jane and Joan but she always viewed Richfield as home. The wonderful people there were like a second family to her and we would like to extend our gratitude to Jully Mayo and her staff. She attended school in Richfield up through and including high school where she enjoyed playing the saxophone and tennis. It was here that she met the love of her life and soul mate, A.J. Ashman. They were high school sweethearts and were later married on April 13th, 1947 after A.J. returned home from the war. They enjoyed many activities together. They spent countless hours up at Fish Lake camping, snowmobiling, fishing and hunting. No two people enjoyed each other’s company more. A.J. passed away September 12, 1981. She also enjoyed spending time with her sister, Loujeane where she learned her great love of golf. Loujeane was a great help and support throughout her life. Vauna worked at the Richfield Juvenile Court as a Court Clerk for 15 years. Vauna and A.J. had 5 children together: Scott, Lee, Chrissann, Jane and Joan. There wasn’t anything more important than family to Vauna. She is survived by her five children Scott(Candi), Lee, Chrissann(Mark Hawley), Jane(Eric Price), and Joan (Steve Larsen). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren that she adored, A.J. Ashman, Keenan Price, Emily Lindley, Jesse Lindley, Ciera Beveridge, Melanie Gubler and Tori Beveridge; and sisters Loujeane and Virgi. She is preceded in death by her husband A.J. Ashman, both parents and her brother Boyd. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 21, 2015 at 12 Noon in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services.
