Monroe, Utah - On January 7, 2018 Veon Allred Syddall stepped through the veil into the arms of her eternal companion, Berl. Veon has done more than she was commanded and endured to the end. Her little body had enjoyed life so much it was just worn out. Veon was born September 19, 1931 in Fremont, Utah to Heber LeRoy and Lucy Howes Allred. She was the third child of eight. Veon was raised in a large family full of hard work, lots of laughter, and even more love. She was very proud to be one of the "Allred Girls". One of her greatest fears was to be "the last leaf on the tree". We are thankful she didn't have this experience. Veon is survived by her much loved baby sister, Shirley Torgerson of Fredonia, Arizona. Veon was raised on her father's farm on the Marysvale "bench". She was so thankful when a cowboy on a nearby ranch kept losing cows and would show up at her house. She was very surprised to find out that he really was coming to see her. Our Mom and Dad's love story started there. Their loved story is something all of us children are very thankful for. They were married on May 6, 1952 in Richfield, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on November 22, 1980. Mom's lovingly service to our Dad has become our legacy. The loss of Dad's leg carried many battles for them. Dad's three open heart surgeries soon followed. She never tired of caring for him. They were always together and made quite a loving team. We will never forget the cry, the whimper from her lips when at the age of 55, Dad slipped thru the veil. After 29 years, they are back together again, never to be parted again. Oh what a joyous reunion they are having. Mom experienced many hard trials in her life. Her life was never easy. She never complained. She told the doctors thru her last stay at the hospital, "I'm doing better". We would like to thank Dr. Jason Okerlund and Dr. Drake Mason and the staff at the Gunnison Valley Hospital for their tender, loving care. This means more to us than you will ever know. Mom and Dad were blessed with five children who adored them and their spouses: Connie (Gene, deceased) Dickson, Carolyn and LaRell Bagley, Debbie and Ross Christensen, all of Monroe; William "Lynn" and Kris Syddall of Hyrum; and last and certainly not least, Tammy and Clint Powell of Elsinore. Berl and Veon's greatest gifts were their 64 grandchildren, 107 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Mom is also survived by her beloved in-laws: Billy and Wanda Syddall of West Valley City; Donna and Ron Beason of Monroe; Bonnie Anding of Jackson, Mississippi; Linda Walker and Sharon Syddall of Richfield; John and Karen Syddall, Randy and Darlene Syddall, all of Monroe. Her dear friends and partners in crime all will miss her and her them. Thanks for all your love. Veon is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two grandsons: Slade LaRell Bagley and David Jessop; great-grandchildren: Nicholas Zabriskie, TyLee Mae Bagley; great-great-granddaughters, Mariah Housekeeper and McKenzie Smith; and her siblings: Novella Farnsworth, Vivian Farnsworth, Fay Snell, Mary Ellen Christensen, Don Allred and Clark Allred. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Monroe 5th LDS Ward Chapel, 140 South Main Street in Monroe.
