Vernon P. Lee

July 24, 1933 — February 27, 2024

Cypress, Texas - Vernon Pollard Lee, 90, passed away February 27, 2024, in Katy, Texas, after a short illness. Vernon was born July 24, 1933 to Vernon Afton and Nona Irene Pollard in Bicknell, Utah. They later moved to Richfield, Utah, where he attended high school. Vernon had one brother, Floyd.


Due to his fascination with aviation, he joined the US Air Force in 1950 where he was a member of the security police. His love of planes and flying was with him all his life. He took flying lessons and enjoyed flying with his children.


Vernon married Rose Marie Watters, April 8, 1952, in Richfield, Utah. Together they had four children, Vernon P. Lee, Jr., Andrew Lee, Louis Lee, and Susan Lee Batten.


He started his career as a butcher and later opened a photography studio. He had an avid love of photography and reading. He continued to stay up to date on current events. He had a passion for investigating all sides of an issue and presenting different arguments in his debates with family. He loved his country and enjoyed numerous debates and sharing his opinions.


He is survived by his children: Andrew and Debbie Lee, SMSgt (ret) Timothy and Susan Batten, and 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rose; and his sons Vernon Lee, Jr. and Louis Lee.


Graveside services were held in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
