Virginia B. Stoker

April 7, 1919 — March 28, 2015

Richfield, Utah - Virginia Brown Stoker, passed peacefully away on March 28, 2015 in Richfield, Utah, eleven days before her ninety-sixth birthday. She was born April 7, 1919 in Koosharem, Utah, a daughter of Ebenezer Cornelius and Rhoda Ann Anderson Brown. She married Miles Levi Stoker, March 12, 1938 in Richfield, Utah. They had been sweethearts for more than 70 years when he passed away January 25, 2007. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on April 2, 1966. Virginia loved being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Primary and Relief Society. She treasured her pioneer heritage and honored them by being a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She loved to read histories of them and their descendents. Virginia worked several years as a dental assistant and at the Richfield Hospital in housekeeping. She was an expert seamstress and sewed for many people. She also enjoyed crocheting and other handiwork. She won many prizes at the County and State Fairs. Virginia is survived by her two children: Lyndon and Alta Stoker, and Sharon Davis, all of Richfield; 8 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Merrill and Elaine Brown of Aimes, Iowa; brother-in-law: Max Woolley of Hagerman, Idaho; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons: Boyd Jolley and Kim Nielsen; 1 great-grandson: Jeremy Boyd Jolley; a son-in-law: Dennis Davis; brothers and sisters: Larue Brown, Verl Brown, Marguerite Coleman, Geneta Bell and Blanche Woolley. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 12 Noon in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Wednesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Koosharem Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
