Vivian Deaton Mecham

Salina, Utah - Our kind, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, wife, daughter and friend, Vivian Deaton Mecham, left us to join her one and only sweetheart, William Eldwin Mecham, on September 19, 2006 in Mayfield, Utah. She was born in Salina, Utah, June 24, 1924, a daughter of John and Jennette Harding Deaton. She married William Eldwin Mecham on December 28, 1942. Together they had four daughters and two sons: Elda Lyne (Deceased) and Dell James, Gladys and Boyd Christensen, all of Redmond; Jane Leween Mecham of the Mayfield Community Care Facility; Wallace and Krista Mecham, Bill Mecham, all of Salina; Margaret Christensen of Elsinore; there are also 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Wilmoth and Arlon Nielsen, Leween (Burton, deceased) Allred, Joe and Elaine Deaton, all of Salina. She is a member of the LDS Church. Vivian was a very generous and kind lady. She made every day special, especially holidays and birthdays, where we enjoyed her great cooking. She was a devoted, loving mother to her special daughter, Jane, whom is now in the care of the dedicated, comforting, hard working staff at the Mayfield Community Care Center, who has made Janes stay a happy and pleasant time. We would like to thank them also for their kind and loving care shown to our mother, during her stay there. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; 1 daughter and 1 granddaughter. We will miss her greatly. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 22, 2006 at 11;00 A.M. in the Salina 2nd LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or again Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Eastside Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
