Wade Bryant

Annabella, Utah/Bend, Oregon - Wade Lamar Bryant passed away peacefully on April 3, 2019 in Bend, Oregon, after a battle with Cancer. He was 58. Wade was born May 2, 1960 in Medford, Oregon. Growing up, he lived in Sacramento, CA; Dayville, OR and Bend, OR. He attended Bend Senior High School with the class of 1978. Wade worked in Bend as a carpet layer until 1979, when he moved to Medford, Oregon, where he was a yard foreman at West Main Rentals. In 1979 Wade married Tami Priday. They had two children and were married for almost 40 years. In 1984 they moved back to Bend and he became the owner of a gas station and auto repair on 8th and Greenwood. Later, Wade Bryant’s Auto Repair & Service Center, Inc. moved to Seward Avenue and then later to 9th street. He and his wife ran the business for 34 years. Wade loved the Lord and was active in his church, serving as a bishop and in many other capacities. Wade was also active in his community. He volunteered as the chair person for the Napa Business Development Group, served on the COCC Advisory Committee for the Automotive department, volunteered for 10 years on the Oregon State Parks ATV advisory committee, helped develop and implement the 4H youth safety program for Oregon State University 4H for ATV’s, formed the “Oregon Outback Waypoints” and “Central Oregon Off Highway Vehicle Association” non-profits. He was also a Boy Scouts of America leader, earning his wood badge. Wade volunteered to help with the restoration and preservation of Bend’s first fire engine, a 1919 American LaFrance. He received the “Klondike Kate” Award for this service to the fire department. Wade also helped the Deschutes County Historical Society resurrect the first car in Bend, a 1907 Holsman, to use in the Bend Bicentennial celebration. He was a co-director for Bend’s Flashback Cruz in 2018. Wade loved giving to and serving others. He was a devoted family man. He loved to restore, show and race cars. Wade also loved ATV’s, hunting, camping, traveling, music, movies, children and animals. He was kind and generous. He is much loved and will be greatly missed by his family and everyone whose lives he touched. Wade is survived by his wife Tami Bryant; daughter Colette (Matt) Purcell; son Drew Bryant; all of Bend; his mother Catherine Jensen of St. George, Utah and many brothers and sisters. A public visitation will be held Saturday, April 20, 2019, at 2:00 pm; a Memorial Service will be given in his honor at 3:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 60800 Tekampe Road in Bend. All who knew and loved him are invited to attend. Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the Annabella Cemetery in Annabella, Utah under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
