Wayne D. Torgerson

Koosharem, Utah - Wayne D. Torgerson age 57 passed away unexpectedly on December 27, 2019 in California. He was born September 11, 1962 to Sidney DeOn and Shirley Ann Johnson Torgerson, in Richfield, Utah. He lived in Richfield until he went on his mission. When he came home from his mission, he moved to California, where he worked for the Federal Government for over 30 years. Wayne married Dana Lema and later divorced. He has a son Ben and a daughter Candice. Wayne found out that he had kidney disease at the age of 22. Both kidneys failed. His brother Carl gave him one of his kidneys, which lasted around 19 years, then it failed. He then went on dialysis for over 8 years, then finally he received another kidney about one year ago. Through it all he still worked for the Federal Government all those years. He never gave up. He was an amazing man. We will miss him dearly. Wayne is survived by his son Ben Torgerson, daughter Candice(Michael) Heaton, grandson Camden Heaton, granddaughters Ashlin,Macie, and Kennedy Heaton, mother Shirley, brother Carl E. Torgerson, sister Vicki V. and Jeff Anderson. He is preceded in death by father Sidney DeOn Torgerson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in the Koosharem LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Koosharem Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
