Weston M. Warren

Weston M. Warren Richfield, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Weston Melvin Warren, age 78, died suddenly and unexpected, July 8, 2003 at his home in Richfield. He was born August 9, 1924 in Price, Utah, a son of Lewis Melvin and Katie Heiner Guild Warren. He graduated from Lyman Wyoming High School, Class of 1942. He received his Bachelors Degree from Utah State University in Logan. Warren served three years in the United States Navy and six years in the Army Reserves. He married Afton LaFon Gilson, June 13, 1949 in Craig, Colorado. Their marriage was solemnzied in the Logan LDS Temple, April 16, 1950. Weston was an active member of the LDS Church, where he served as ward clerk, Sunday school teacher, Branch President and Stake Missionary for the Spanish speaking Stake in Great Falls, Montana. Weston and LaFon served as ordinance workers in the Manti Temple for over 5 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, 4-wheeling, gardening and he was the family geneologist. He is survived by his wife, LaFon, of Richfield; children: Kenneth Warren, Henderson, NV; Judy Robinson, Bountiful; Christine Wallender, Hobbs, N.M.; Karen Armstrong, Phoenix, AZ; Michael Warren, Las Vegas, NV; Sandra Tuttle, Richfield; Nadine Kunzler, Hinckley; Valerie Jones, Sevier; 30 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Bruce Warren, Provo; Keith Warren, Arizona; Lorna Maxwell, Salt Lake City; Gild Walker, California; 16 Walker brothers and sisters; 12 Warren brothers and sister. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kami Kunzler; mother, father and step-father; brothers, Melvin and Elvin Warren and 7 Walker brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. in the Richfield 10th LDS Ward Chapel, 200 East Center Street in Richfield. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 260 North 400 West, in Richfield, Friday evening from 7 to 9 P.M. and at the ward chapel, Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Sevier VFW Post #5050 will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
