Willadean Olsen

Salina, Utah - Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Willadean Peterson Olsen, age 79, died November 11, 2011 at her home in Salina. She was born March 3, 1932 in Redmond, Utah, a daughter of Sidney Niels and Fern Christine Jensen Peterson. She grew up in Redmond and graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1950. She married the love of her life, Dee Leon Olsen, January 26, 1951 in the Manti LDS Temple. Willadean was a very active member of the LDS Church, serving as Ward and Stake Primary President in the Milwaukee Wisconsin Stake, as a missionary at Martins Cove and as an ordinance worker in the Provo Temple for four years. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, baking, traveling south for the winters, and camping at Acord Lakes. She is survived by her husband, Dee Olsen of Salina; children: Steven and Colleen Olsen, and Patti Shaw, of Alpine; Ronald and Terri Olsen of Highland; Gary and Robin Olsen of Riverton; and Tami Clark of Benbrook, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Darlene Bjerregaard of Bountiful. She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers: Idona and Sam Jorgensen; Grandon Peterson, Kendall and MaRee Peterson, Marella Taylor and Moyle Lee Peterson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 12 Noon in the Salina LDS Stake Center, where friends may call for viewing Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Thursday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Redmond Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
