Wilma D. Nielson

Elsinore, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, Wilma Dutton Nielson, age 81, of Provo and formerly of Elsinore, died February 8, 2008 in Provo of complications from pneumonia. She was born December 7, 1926 in Hatch, Utah, a daughter of Joshua Ephraim and Julia Edna Merrill Dutton. Wilma married Morrill Aray Nielson February 7, 1950 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mt. Timpanogos LDS Temple. He died March 12, 2006. Wilma enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, sewing and gardening. She was a member of the LDS Church. After the death of her beloved husband, Wilma moved to Provo to live with a daughter. She is survived by her children: Marlene and Calvin Stewart of Central Valley; Patty Shaw and Jim Peters of Provo; Steven M. and Sylvia Nielson of Monroe; Paula and Gregg Chappell of Logandale, Nevada; Collene and Pete Kenneson of Elsinore; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a sister, Verna Barnhust of Las Vegas,Nevada. She was preceded in death by a son, Bradford Morrill Nielson; her husband, Morrill; six brothers and two sisters: Cecil Dutton, Alfred Dutton, Edna Burrows, Elwin Dutton, Dell Dutton, Reed Dutton, Donald Dutton and Arminta Howard. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 15, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in the Elsinore LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Elsinore Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
