Wilma Lue Allred

January 12, 1926 — November 19, 2007

Kanarraville, Utah - Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Wilma Lue Oldroyd Allred, age 81, died November 19, 2007 in Richfield, Utah. She was born January 12, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of Willis A. And Luzella Farnsworth Oldroyd. She married Jay Loren Allred, July 10, 1943 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. She graduated from Wayne High School and from Southern Utah University with a BS Degree in Sociology. Wilma was an active member of the LDS Church, serving on the Young Womens and Relief Society Boards in Henderson, NV, and as the organist in the St. George Temple. She loved being a Sunday School Teacher. She and her husband served two full time missions, one to Arkansas and one to Colorado. She also served as a Stake Missionary and as a Temple Ordinance Worker. Wilma was an author of numerous poetry books and two novels. She loved to play the piano. She is survived by her husband, Jay L. Allred of Monroe and Kanarraville; her children: Galen J. Allred of Kanarraville; Leanna Cammack and Tonya Payne, both of Cedar City; Mary Jayne Knight of Monroe; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two children: Jaysson Allred and Jaylene Allred; her parents and a brother, Vernon Oldroyd. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 23, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in the Kanarraville LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Grave side services and burial will be Friday afternoon at 4:00 P.M. in the Lyman Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
