Wilva Madsen

Monroe, Utah - Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Wilva Wrigley Madsen, age 95, died February 2, 2009 in Richfield, Utah. She was born September 1, 1913 in Orderville, Utah, a daughter of John Osborne and Nancy Ellen Foote Wrigley. She attended South Sevier High School. She married Harold Martin Madsen, July 5, 1931 in Richfield, Utah. He died August 19, 1988. She was a member of the LDS Church. She was a seamstress and loved to sew. Sewing was her life long career. She said she sewed everything from Wedding dresses to tents. She sewed for women, men and children alike. She also made many beautiful quilts. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and reading. Wilva is survived by her children: Maureen Karst Wheadon, David H. and Diane Madsen, all of Richfield; Ray and Dianne Madsen of Sandy; Lynn and Errol Rasmussen, Larry and Maria Madsen, all of Las Vegas, NV; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Sarah Ann and Lloyd Coleman of Riverdale. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vera Covington; brothers and sisters: Orland and Sofia Wrigley; Clinton and Mary Wrigley; Melva Wrigley; Flora and Norman Wentz; Robert Alma and Verlene Wrigley; William Odell and Roberta Wrigley. While living at the Beehive Home and the Richfield Care Center, she has received very kind and loving care. The family would like to extend a special thanks to those people, the Doctors, Nurses and Aids, for that special love and care they gave to our dear mother during her stay there. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 1:00P.M. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
