Springer Turner Funeral Home has been present in Sevier county for many generations. In 1890 the Alvie Peterson family created Peterson Mortuary in Salina. In 1943, Joe D. Springer bought into the Peterson's Funeral Home and opened an additional mortuary in Richfield. In 1959, Springer's son, Joe H. Springer, joined the mortuary and moved into the Salina facility.
In 1980, Bruce W. Turner bought into the Springer Mortuaries and moved into the Richfield location while Joe H. Springer continued living in Salina.
While the Springer Turner Funeral Homes have a rich history, we have a dedication of continual improvements to our facilities and services while providing competitive pricing.
The Richfield location has undergone a number of enhancements including an elegant new 200-seat capacity chapel which was added in 1989. In 1994 a garage, parking lot and new dressing room and embalming room was added to the Richfield location. Most recently the Richfield Chapel was remodeled with stained glass windows, a raised podium, new speakers, and Austrian Curtain, which runs the length of the chapel and can be lowered to provide a private area for family prayers, and additional seating in the chapel.
The Salina location recently underwent a renovation which included a complete remodel of the interior of the facility.
We try to focus on the value of the funeral service and what it represents. Keeping this in mind, we offer the families that we serve choices. We offer personalized caskets that reflect the memories of the life lived. We offer a choice in the type of funeral service they prefer, where they would like to have their service held and a choice in the the type of burial. We are very opened minded and give our families the opportunity to express their feelings, thus helping them in their grieving process. We offer a wide variety of funeral options including a number of choices on how to hold services for a cremation.
We feel honored and privileged to be associated with such great people in the surrounding communities that we service. We are committed to the area, and we are committed to our work. We are also dedicated to providing professional, caring, personalized and dignified services to all of those that we serve.
